4. good reason to worry
Rendell protected our voting rights. The republican governors of fl and oh did their best to supress the democraic vote. I suggest people in blue states do something about this mess before we lose even more ground.

5. Don't blame me
Don't blame me because Pataki is my state's Governor, I didn't vote him, nor did anyone else in my family or on my College campus(SUNY New Paltz),mainly because he and his goons in Albany are tying to cut services at state colleges, like tuition assistance and education Opportunity.

7. Ironic that
arguably the bluest region of the nation, New England, has almost entirely Republican governors.

Unfortunately in January that map's going to get a lot redder. :(

8. The Glass is Half Full....
Looked at the other way, I see quite a bit of blue in those supposedly impenetrable red areas. Pataki should be a goner in NY (along with the useless, clueless "I'm really a Dem, but I'm just running as a Republican" Mayor Bloomberg, the man who brought the RNC convention to NYC).

Completely agree that these races are local events. Where we lost in blue states, they often had better candidates or ran better campaigns. Or they pulled some more of their typical underhanded garbage like in California for Arnold.

If we identify good, solid candidates, support them, give them good people to run the campaigns and do something about the press, we can take a lot of state houses. We just have to watch not to rob the senate to find them. This is an area we can quickly make real and important inroads into the power gap.

(Is Bob Graham eligible to run for governor again in Florida?)
