"Bloggers Still Tracking Votes in Wash."

SEATTLE (AP) - Washington's super-close governor's race may be hell on the candidates, but it's a special sort of heaven for political bloggers.

They are glued to their computers, wearing out the "refresh" button on the Secretary of State's web site, creating color-coded spreadsheets and generally obsessing over every twist and turn in the ballot count.

"It's kind of like watching a horse race," explained Stefan Sharkansky, a computer software consultant and frequent contributor to conservative Web log Sound Politics.

Sharkansky posted 11 updates last Tuesday, when Republican Dino Rossi captured the lead from Democrat Christine Gregoire for the first time since Election Day. Thousands of ballots still have to be counted, and both sides have said the race probably will go on until the final provisional ballots are tallied Wednesday.
