Dem Think Tank calls for Senate to pick Durbin and Kennedy as leaders
The Patrick Henry Democratic Club (organized as a progressive think tank) is calling on all Democratic Senators to elect Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy to their two top Senate Minority leadership positions.

The club, noting that the current leadership has caused the loss of Democratic Senate seats in 2 elections, has called for leadership with the kind of courage, commitment to the Constitution and vision that Durbin and Kennedy have demonstrated.

Their website is located at www.patrickhenrythinktank.org

Tuesday is the day that the Senate Minority Leadership will be selected. Everyone here, please, contact your senators and the senators of other states and get them to back Durbin and Kennedy for the two top Minority Leadership positions. Do you want four more years of the Senate Democrats caving in to the Bush agenda or do you want them to stand up and fight for you?

2. That'd be cool
Reid seems like a decent guy but too Daschle-eque.

I want someone from a safe state.

3. Durbin Yes, Kennnedy No.
Durbin is an excellent choice. He will be whip, which in many cases is better than majority leader. As for the K-man...he's got too much baggage and is too close to the end of his career to be useful. He is mostly a source of bad jokes among the populace, sorry to say, and that image is too well-ingrained to get rid of.

6. Would Boxer
stand up and fight for the American people even if it means rejecting the DNC?

5. Tear me apart if you want
Kenndy for sure..... he won't take any guff. I'm not that familiar with Durbin. The Dems need someone to stand up and say go to hell. Ted Kennedy although with reservation within the past day would do this. My only concern is his connection with the groper. That is a problem with me.
