Focusing On 2008 Is the Only Thing That Keeps Me Sane
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 02:42 PM by Placebo
It's allowed me to skip over the post-election depression that so many slipped into, and might still be in.

If I just focus on the next chance to take back the White House, it makes bearing the pain a lot easier. If that makes me a troll or a freeper, fine.

edit: Obviously I care a lot about 2006 too, but 2008 is what really keeps my spirits up.

2. don't forget 06, we need to steal a couple of seats from the repugs
if we could tighten up the senate that would dampen what shrub could do the last two years. even if we have to run moderate repugs to do it. we need dean in the dnc chair.

3. Might be a little more useful to focus on 2006
and work for some Democratic gains in the House and the Senate.

Just sayin'...

8. Thanks! I have to admit that I lifted it from another DUer.
I loved it as soon as I saw it -- and, well, just had to have it too. So feel free to lift it for yourself if you like. The more prayer wheels the better, imho. :D

4. You are so not a Freeper.
I have read your posts since I joined Oct. 2 and you are one of the ones I really enjoy reading. You aren't a Troll or a freeper, you are simply protecting yourself from depression.

5. I know it's heresy on DU right now to look forward and not back....

but that's what I'm doing too. Many lessons to be learned from this election. How to apply them without selling out is the challenge.

6. I am glad that you are so confident
that there will be a 2008 election.

First, we have to fix the system and get an auditable paper-trail. Otherwise, even if there is an "election" it won't be trustworthy.

Also, the momentum and tone of our current Dictator in Chief is worrisome.

9. 2006 is extremely important!
We have to take back some seats in the Senate and the House or else we're really up shit crick. Also, getting Dean in as chairman of the DNC is important. Plus don't forget about state and local elections. 2008 is important but there's loads of work to do before that even becomes an issue.

10. 2006 could be a landslide for the Dems
Another bin Laden hit

Higher deficits

More people out of work

Repugs using the overtime pay thing to kill off hourly workers like nurses.

The people will want the toss all of them out IMHO

11. Planning for 2008 is okay, but . . .
I'm not ready to give up on 2004 yet. At least, I want to keep fighting until the electoral college meets, until the fraud investigations are complete, until every last chance we have to turn this election around is exhausted.
