Certain wooden-headed elements of the left will, of course, continue to assert that little, if anything, new has happened as a result of this election. They will continue to see the old institutional facades in place and will impressionistically conclude that all talk of a new period in American history as delusional. It is time for class-conscious working people, revolutionary socialists and communists to face forward and begin to come to grips with the new situation confronting us. Seriously, though, we won't have to make this choice. The Defense of the Presidency Act of '07 will abolish all the uncertainty caused by elections. After all, changing chief executives in the middle of an eternal war will only send mixed signals to the terrorists*.

We ran a Ham Sandwich against the most corrupt Prez in history and the Ham Sandwich lost, and if it wasn't for the ABB vote, he would have lost in a landslide. The Dem Ham Sandwich can not count on an ABB vote in 2008 because many progressives, this one included, will not vote for the candidate of choice from the Dem Losership Council.
