Colin Powell in 2008?
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 09:11 PM by BluegrassDem
How would you all greet the idea of Colin Powell jumping ship and becoming a Democrat and running for president in 2008? He seems to be on the right side of issues most important to the party, such as being pro-choice and pro-affirmative action. He's actually more liberal than some of the so-called centrist Democrats. I think he could win hands down. He doesn't seem to like a lot of people in the Bush admin., particularly the neocons. That would really piss them off.

2. Don't count on it.
Though I still hold out hope that he'll resign, then write a tell-all book on the * administration. He's become their scapegoat, and even though I don't like him, there's a good change that he's disenchanted, and generally pissed.

But don't count on it. The neocons have...ways of keeping him in lockstep.

4. Powell
Fuck Colin Powell -- he has displayed a huge lack of character and cannot be trusted. Not to mention he has the spine of a jelly fish.

7. He's tainted
by the Bush administration. There's no way that the dems (including myself) would trust him to be our candidate. He's a sell out!

.... give you a bucket of warm spit.

Colin Powell is a man I trust and respect even less than the delusional neocons. He knew better, but to keep his job he just suddenly threw everything he knew and believed out the window and starting lying his ass off.

If the Dem party even nominated him, it would be the last vote they ever got from me.
