Senator Kerry turn back your boat one more time for us....
for the people who cannot afford to have Bush in the WH....who need changes in our education system, environment, health care, and the economy not to mention a foreign policy that is honest with the american people and to the troops. Please turn back your boat like you did in Vietnam to save the life of a fellow officer. Do it for the american people this time and fight that every vote gets counted and make sure there was NO election fraud! I beg you....please....many wealthy people who were supportive of you can get by another 4 years of Bush....but I cant and many others I know cannot....we are desperate for a president who will look out for us and put our interest first....I feel that you are that man. We know Bush does not give a shit about the middle class...he is killing us and we need you to save us....turn that boat back just one more.....

1. How can he "make sure there was NO election fraud" when there was?
I have to wonder how much he has thought about this. For him to drop the bid so quickly when he had a chance... seems uncharacteristic.

Perhaps he sees a candidate-driven effort to recount votes as a losing proposition. The nation would resent him if he got behind the effort, proving fraud. Republicans would simply turn it against him and accuse him of malfeasance. But if state Democratic parties can prove fraud beyond a doubt, maybe there's a chance of winning the EC after all, or at least doing something about normalizing voting procedures.

While I'm disappointed by his behavior, I also see a possible underlying rationale at work.

2. High Road
This is inline with the Kerry campaign's strategy of remaining above the fray.

7. Firming Up ? THE CLOCK IS TICKING !!!
Criminy, this isn't a chess match.

Jesus Forbes Kerry isn't coming to save the day.

He isn't going to do ANYTHING. When will people accept that
and start doing what they can do at their local level to make
sure the people don't get double-hosed again in 06 and 08 ??

IT'S UP TO US, PEOPLE !!!

8. It also needs to be done at the local level -
Kerry can't come barreling into a state demanding recounts while the local officials are still trying to count the votes.

It's important for the count to continue and that local pressure be brought to bear for every possible vote to be counted in the initial count. The closer the margin is, the more justification Kerry will have to demand a recount when the results are declared.

Patience.

6. Who cares what anyone thinks
If the election results are fraudulent and it's proven, then Kerry is the elected President and we get to nominate judges for the Supreme Court, overhaul the FCC and EAC and on and on.

It didn't bother Bush and his supporters that he was selected by the court, not elected. Why should we care what the brown shirts and all the sore loser fascist right-wing Republicans and their kind think. We have to stand up for justice and truth. Those, including the corporate media, who win their way by being bullies are really cowards anyway. We have to stand and fight.

run roughshod over people because WE say we're right. It's important that this all be done correctly so that it's clear to those who aren't our true believers (and there are plenty of people in the middle who aren't fascist brownshirts) that we care about the process and aren't about just winning at all costs and screw everyone else.
