to paraphrase: all that matters is who counts the votes. We can GOTV until the moon splits but if they are not counted that it doesn't really matter.
Solution: we need to organize, within our own states (red, blue, green, mauve etc.) ballot initiatives calling for equal voting treatment. That is, the same number of voting booths per capita, regardless of precinct. This way, we don't have rural voters standing in line for a few minutes while urban voters have to face hours long waiting. Next, the state shall accept no electronic voting equipment unless all of the codes are made public (none of this stuff about copyrighted codes ala Diebold). Then, there must be a paper trail for auditing purposes.
Of course, the ironic part is that these initiatives may never pass because existing voting equipment can be rigged against them. We can elect Democratic Secretaries of State, but that too can be Diebolded. What else is left? Any suggestions? What happens when a sizable minority has no recourse, no power? What happens when frustration risesand there is no way to quell it? Apathy or perhaps...? I don't to think of it, let alone say it.
