We're staying the course with the Great Depression. We're not turning back. Good luck.

1. amazing ain't it?
Despite fraud and plenty of other alibis and despite it being politically unwise and politically incorrect, I'm now convinced more than ever that the majority of Murkans are just plain fucking stupid.

2. Herbert Hoover was probably a good man
with good intentions, just not competent as President so unable to fix things.

Bush is truly evil and doesn't care.

3. Well, reelecting Bush right now makes just about as much sense now
as reelecting Hoover would have made then.

People would have said, "What the hell?" if Hoover had managed to pull off a victory.

Thankfully, the American people were sensible. Hoover lost by 18%. Now, we reward a guy who screws our economy into the dirt by giving him what he and his compatriots can call a "mandate."

4. I was thinking more 1928.
We have not really begun to be screwed yet.
But the Hoover image is right on.

5. It's 1976 and we've re-elected Nixon
He resigned, Ford pardoned him, and as a classic Nixonian bit of decency, he came back to beat him in the primaries, as friendly conservatives rammed through a repeal of the 22nd Amendment, and had time to buy off enough states to make it stick.

Wages and prices were re-frozen, and plans were immediately contemplated to reinstate the law of the end of the Roman Empire, where one is forced to have the job one's Father had, thus eliminating messy social upheaval. Billy Graham blessed the prodigal President, and all was well in the land of Nod-along and shut up.
