"Count the votes, don't worry about the exit polls." BULL SHIT!!!!!
I just decided to watch some of the coverage from election night since I have it recorded. The two things that stuck out in my mind were the HUGE lines in Ohio and Florida in heavy dem areas!

Then the quote from my title. That is what the Bush campaign said to the media just before any of the polls had closed. We were FUCKING ROBBED!!!!!!!!! They knew Kerry would have won so they said don't worry about the exit polls. This is when the MEDIA turned and wouldn't call Ohio or Florida. Remember they were just getting ready to call Ohio before any votes had been tallied? Then they said it was to close to call. BS!!!! I have a feeling if they would have called OH and FL for Kerry by 3-5% as the polls showed people would have suspected something was up instead of them waiting to call it for Bush since the white house said "don't worry about the exit polls".

Exit polls are used in other nations to keep them from doing what Bush co. did.

2. Then why bother with the election?
After all, an exit poll of 2,020 people (for CNN's exit polls) is far more accurate than actually asking the 5,000,000+ people of Ohio who actually voted what they think. Ohio has about 100 counties, so we're looking at basically asking 202 people per county, or if we weight it by population, far less than that in most counties (less in the "red" counties and more in the "blue" counties. I don't doubt that there was some fraud going on, but I think citing the exit polls as "evidence" of fraud is just completely ridiculous. Are we to believe that this massive repuke machine can fix a national election, but isn't capable of tilting an exit poll by a few percentage points? Would you have felt better if they had called OH and FL for Kerry, only to have him lose the vote in the end? Wasn't that what we were all bitching about after 2000?
