Could it Happen Again ....... or Not?
Edited on Fri Nov-05-04 07:49 AM by Husb2Sparkly
Just musing here while licking my wounds .........

Many threads these days start with or include "fuck". This isn't one of them.

Many threads here about who will run in '08. This isn't one of them.

The obvious reoccured to me, but not in the usual way. We got whumped in this election by a combination of the Bush "dynasty", the ghost of Lee Atwater in the person of KKKarl Rove, and a (maybe) one time issue of gay marriage.

'08 is a ways off. What obtains today may well not be even close to what we'll face then. This time we had:

1. Bullshit marriage ammendments on 11 state ballots that brought out the fundies. There's no way KKKarl and that little shit Ralph Reed didn't engineer this.

2. The Repubs were, in many ways, avenging Clinton's defeat of Poppy's run for a second term. They were also, of course, trying to get their puppet, the boy king in.

3. None of this will be there in '08. To be sure there'll be some other wedge issue. But will we have another KKKarl candidate? If Jebby doesn't run, there's no Bush name. We have no idea who they'll run. We have no idea if whoever runs will even want or trust Rove to help him.

It just occurs to me that our mountain in '08 may not be what it was this year.

Am I wrong? Delusional? Missing something? Pollyanna?
