Why are the repukes all chanting they will work with the Dems?
We've all seen their MO in the past, even back to the Clinton era. Their idea of working with us is for us to bend over backwards and give them free reign.

That is not working with us, that is bulldozing us.

And they will blame us when they don't get all that they want.

Compromise is part of unity and democracy, even for the majority.

Mark my words, this is a huge set-up. And we need to blow up in their faces or else it really will be curtains for our party.

1. They're trying to bulldoze any resistance left
If they can paint the picture of reconciliation and we start resisting with things such as the Supreme Court, they can then claim we're being sore losers and are being obstructionist and being against the American people by not listening to "the mandate."

3. Exactly, they have no intension of working with us.
They are going to push the most fucking Reich Wing agenda this country has ever seen and when we try to resist they are going to label us as bitter obstructionists and play the victim.

I just wish the other half of the country would wake the fuck up.

10. I'm telling ya...
.... judicial appointments should be resisted with every ounce of our limited power but legislation should just be allowed to pass.

We should make a statement that "we think this bill is bad for America" and have not one single Dem vote for or against it.

Let them blame the inevitable problems on Dems then.

... it is not my idea, I read it here on DU. I forget the name of the poster but I agree with him or her totally.

They have us where they want us. They control the presidency, the senate and the house. We will not be able to stop them, except we might be able to forestall the most egregious judicial appointments.

Give them enough rope I say. The country wants this, let them have it. I'm dead serious here.

11. I say we step aside
I think every Democratic Congress person and Senator should just step aside, abstain from all those votes that get called up without any Democratic input (which is ALL of them), and give the Republicans enough rope to hang themselves.

Let them pass all the legislation they want, exactly the way they say they want it. The last thing Democrats should do is fall into the trap. Don't offer the Republicans the resistance they need to make the case about how Democrats are so obstructionist.

As I said on another thread, we have nothing left to lose now. To fight a fight we are bound to lose is senseless if all it does is give the enemy more ammunition to use against us.

The Republicans know they can't govern based on the Fundy RW agenda. Even the Repubs know these people are fucking nut cases, but they desperately needed their votes, so they said what the Fundies wanted to hear.

So I say the Dems should just step aside and let the Republicans prove to their base that it was all bullshit. When they can't blame Democrats for standing in their way, they will be exposed for what they are, and will have no choice but to eat their own.

I've been watching C-Span this morning. The fundies are pulling their hair out at the thought of Arlen Specter being the chairman of the judiciary because he had the nerve to say that "a womans right to choose is inviolate".
Theres a reason why his name is being floated by Republicans. His seat is safe in largely pro-choice PA, so he can afford to be the sacrificial lamb on this issue.

12. Because they are lying! Again! But no one in the media will call them on
it.

I agree with you, but how do we call them on it if the media will not report it?

18. Working marginally well here, Napolitano and McCain are working to ...
... together help our school superintendent increase funding to secure school busses in the district. We are remaining cautiously hopefully and looking forward to the future the best we can. I'm convinced, the future in Arizona is what we make it, we're try not to let partisan differences divide us. It's not perfect, but is a positive step.

19. They Want to Blame Us Too When They Fail
They want the Dems to agree to their crap and then throw it back at us as"bi-partisan" decisions. They kept reminding us that Kerry voted for the Iraqi war. No Democrat should vote for any of the right wing agenda....
