I started my blog "Nostalgic about my Future" because of the sadness i had felt about the republican government and how they were changing what I thought would be my future, hence the feeling of being nostalgic about the future I felt I had before they came to power....I reached a breaking point. I have always been very knowledgable about politics...but never donated, never put a sign in my yard, never canvassed or phone called...
but I have now donated, i have planted several signs, i have canvassed and phone called...it feels good, damn good to have gotten involved and have fought for the future i want for me, my family, my country...i pledge to become more involved....i pledge to get more people involved
I had hoped to change the name of the blog into reflecting a new hope for the future with a new direction when Kerry was elected....now the name of my blog resonates even more....I will be reworking the format and content to FIGHT the 'elected' machine, and pledge to KEEP FIGHTING for what is right and true and the future I WANT....
- I will
continue to communicate the failings of this government to my friends, relatives, and visitors
- I will
continue to propose better ways of dealing with the world
- I will
support those who support my points of view - I will
not support those on the other side or their machine
- I will
channel my anger to new change, quiet and loud protest, and new hope for America and the world
- I will
not lay down and allow them to roll over me - I will
continue my letter writing to the Whitehouse, to the editors, to my representatives
- I will
suggest new changes to DU to improve the possibilities and ability of members to have their voices heard
-
I will change minds and sow doubt about Bush Inc. -
I will remain involved, and get more involved -
I will stand and fight, and fight harder...True liberty and a quest for real freedom have to be fought 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, every year of your life...
please join in pledging to never give up the war because of one lost battle, never lay down because of one lost fight....we hold incledible power in the internet and our ability to communicate and organize, this is maybe the biggest lesson from the Dean campaign which breathed new life into the democratic party.....keep fighting, keep organizing, keep communicating....
