My Rant

I mostly lurk here, don't post too much. But tonight, I really need to have my voice heard. Part of it is what happened last night, and part of it is what is happeneing tonight.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I live in Alaska now, but grew up in a dirt poor town in Southern Colorado. My grandfathers were coal miners and cattle ranchers, my dad taught school. We were poor. The blood of the Ludlow Massacre flowed just about two miles from the ranch. All the men I knew were union men and democrats.

I have a Master's degree in toxciology and work the feds up here. I got through two Universities by working at night and student loans. I never got a Pell Grant. It was a long, long, long road to get where I am, but I did it. The sad thing is, if I had to do it again today with Bush's policies, I probably could not make it. THAT is why I am a democrat. It's not about giving people a hand out, it's about giving them a leg up

I hate what happened last night, but the response here that I am seeing from some people is more than I can bear. The bottom line is that we got our asses beat, plain and simple. I really don't know or care if Bush cheated. I am sure he did, but you know what, if he did, after last year, we should have known better, and we SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPECTING IT! We were not prepared.

The coal miners would have known what to do. They would have shot windows out, thrown rocks, and done other things that have a good chance of getting your ass thrown in jail. Of course, I am not advocating that, that would be silly, but I am advocating GETTING TOUGH, GETTING MEAN, AND GETTING NASTY!!!!

Most of the people AGREE WITH THE DEMOCRATIC POSITIONS! So why do we lose? We lose because we are ALWAYS on the DEFENSE. Let's face it. It's time for new tactics. If it had not been for Perot, Bush the first would have won against Bill Clinton. We don't win because we fight among each other. We sit back and take their abuse. They call us sissies and weak, and you know what...we act just like they say we do. We sit by and watch Swift Boat Veterans spew bullshit for three weeks wtihout an attack. When MoveOn.org gets nasty, Kerry tells them to quit. WE DESERVED TO LOSE! WE BRING A SWITCHBLADE TO A GUN FIGHT EVERY STUPID TIME AND WE GET OUR ASSES KICKED.

I am sick of it. We need to unite. We need to quit letting them beat us to a pulp on bullshit like abortion, gun control, and taxes. Yeah, these things are necesary, but they certianly are not pleasant, and certainly not popular. How do you expect to win when they are talking about child tax credits becoming permanent while our guy is defending the practice of partial birth abortion because the ammendment had not protection clause for the mother? Bottom Line -- you don't, you can't. It's too ugly an issue, and even though our position is right, we lose on aesthetics. We need to get these corporate pukes where it hurts....but we don't and we won't. WHY!!!???

So, I am not a big fan of just bitching and pointing fingers. I propose a new way for Democrats. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. NO RULES, NO MORALS, NOTHING SHALL BE BENEATH US. These Republicans are sickos. They said this was a "moral" president yet they forgot this man happily slimed a child against McCain. Then, to make matters worse, McCain happily endorsed Bush, the MAN WHO SLIMED HIS CHILD!!!

WAKE UP! WE CANNOT "TAKE THE HIGH ROAD" AND WIN. THIS IS DRITY AND THIS IS WAR. It's like the American Revolution. Going shoulder to shoulder against the British troop was a massacre....but adopting Indian fighting tactics served us quite well.

COME ON GUYS. GET PISSED OFF. GET ANGRY. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY...GET EVEN! NO more talk of computer voting machines or trucks hauling away votes. Get fucking even. Do you hear me. Time to get fucking even.
