IN HIS CONCESSION SPEECH....
John Kerry called for a healing of the wounds and a closing of the gap between both sides. That was great.

A short time later, * in his victory statement, said much the same thing. I of course believe he copied those sentiments from Kerry and that if no one in his camp heard what Kerry said, * would not have mentioned healing the wounds.

But now he said it and we have to hold his hands to the fire to make sure he keeps his promise. Now * asked for the "support of those who did not vote for him". He wont get that support if he doesn't realize, recognize and consider the fact that almost half the people in this country voted against him because their priorities are different, their needs and wants are different and their beliefs are different. * has to realize we did not all come out of the same cookie cutter and if he ignores us, he can kiss any cooperation goodbye.

On the other hand, we must stay on the alert for anything that smells of an impeachable offense.

2. With a Congress that won't even think about impeaching him
for anything.

After their despicable, divisive campaign and shriek-monkey convention, there is NO unity possible.

3. I love the moves he's making
Like cutting taxes and winning the war in Iraq. I remember those being the issues that united the country.

4. the burden of responsibility
With control of the Presidency, Senate and House again, should they screw up, the republicans have no one to blame but themselves. They have free reign and control to pretty much do what the heck they want, and we will see what the backlash will end up being.

So much of the administrations shady dealings have come to light in the last four years (Halliburton, Abu Ghraib, etc, etc) I will not be surprised when even more shocking instances of abuse of power are brought to our knowledge. It seemed every week something new was coming out, even with a conciliatory press. I don't know if the press is still in such awe of the "straight shooter" as they were before. I feel it is just a matter of time until something clearly impeachable comes out, and if in 2 years the House and Senate can't do anything worthwhile, there could be backlash there as well.

I am also wondering how long it will be until Colin Powell hands in his resignation.

The burden that the Republican Party has been handed may be one they are not able to handle.

6. Exactly....
... Bush** says shit all the time, he means little of it. He ran his 2000 campaign as a right-centrist, but has governed from the hard right.

Every word Bush** utters is merely a word, there is no meaning or intent or sincerity behind a single thing he says.

I'm wondering when, if ever, the fucking flatliner morons who voted for him will figure that out.

8. It's All Verbage...The Only Words They Heard Were Mandate
Today was another photo op and soon we'll start seeing how little this regime cares about "accomodating"...and out will come the retribution. Just like some here advocated a long list of Repugnicans to go after "when we won", now the shoe's on the other foot.

That's the sad deal of being on the losing side and, honestly, I don't see why they need to.

We got it handed to us bad. Now I'll wait and see where the dust settles and see if it's worth getting involved again.
