Are we too focused on national politics?

Someone mentioned joining the Republican Party...and "change them from within." Easier said than done. Sure you can join...that is simple...but then you have to act.

We dont have the sort of local support that they gain by being involved in the church. This is perhaps where we SHOULD join them. Im sure some of our parents made us go to church, and some of us continue, just out of respect for out elders. Perhaps it's time to get involved...be there...represent our side. Since our side seems less likely to be in church, we are giving away this valuable "marketplace of ideas..." You dont have to be a Ned Flanders to show up every sunday...give a bit of time. We've allowed a certain kind of single-mindedness to evolve by skipping church. We have removed ourselves from the argument. I guess we got scared...split, and left a self fufilling prophecy.

I realize the truth of the above will vary with culture...

But - It's just a matter of how bad we want it...Perhaps time for a little Faith Based Initiative of our own.
