Why Kerry lost....for the 1,046th tiem today :-)
We allowed Rove to define our message. We let the Republicans define us as a party without values, a party for gay marriage, and a party for abortion.

They defined Kerry as a liberal. We failed to define Bush as an extremist conservative. There was plenty of evidence out there to support our case. We should have been highlighting Bush's connection to the radical right from day 1. They defined a war hero and his entire party as being weak on defense. Bringing up BCCI would have prevented this. This would have put Bush on the defensive from day 1, as Bush got a loan from this criminal bank.

The incompitency by the DNC on this one makes me wonder if they are really trying. Maybe their leaders really don't want to give up their tax cuts. Maybe Nader was right, there really is only one party, the Demopublicans.

You can say I am being a "monday morning quarterback," but I have been saying these thing all along. I am seriously thinking of getting out of my Masters' program in Industrial Psychology and getting into a Poli Sci program. I could have managed a better campaign than these wimps. I just don't feel like they were trying...no effort to oppose BBV either.

Thanks for the dissapointment, DNC.

1. Yep.
Waay too much go along to get along. Time after fucking time there was a clear opening for a hard right cross to the jaw and nothing happened. We were wimped to death. I didn't support Kerry initially but I checked on him closely over time and came to respect his decency and honor. Either his fighting instinct was worn away over the duration of his senate career, or he just totally misread the electorate and listened too closely to his stupid campaign advisors. Bad choices.

2. No no
The machines + massive vote suppression and other vote fraud. Do you REALLY think we lost FL (or any of a number of other states possibly including OHio)? Think again.

3. Hate radio is killing us, the gay marriage issue is killing us...
We must find a way to combat the 24/7 advertisement and misinformation free outlet of hate radio.....

4. I agree for the most part
But things are not all that hunky dory in the republican party either. There are divisions forming just like in the Democratic Party. And Bush is no extreme conservative. He is an extreme neocon...big difference. Given his incredibly poor stewardship and the accumulated disasters he has created, Shrub is going to give the democrats a big opening in the next few elections.

Over the longer term though I think both parties are going to slit into new parties. The Republican Party will fracture between the NeoCon/Statist/Globalist wing and the traditional Conservative wing, each forming their own party. Both sides literally hate each other more than they hate the democrats (take it to the bank) and the moderates in this fight will tend towards the conservative party.

The Democratic Party will split with the traditional labor union, pro-military, moderate wing forming a new party and the socialists/globalists/communists forming their party.

My take on this is driven by what I see as unbridgeable divides in both parties.

Actually breaking up the 2 party system is a good thing for America. More choices means more competition and a more honest system of governance.
