I can only imagine how Bush's unrestrained radical right agenda will proceed over the next 4 years. I don't see even the slimest chance the Bush will move toward the center.

I'm almost excited in a twisted sorta way. Excited in that Lloyd Dobler kinda way. I feel like maybe we've just been presented with that "dare to be great" situation.

I'm also excited that our side is finally (30+ years later) establishing comparible partisan institutions such as Air America Radio, Media Matters for America and the Center for American Progress.

All 3 are just seeds, but they should all flourish during the trainwreck that will be a second-term in office for Duhbya.

I've got my sights on the 2006 election here in Arizona. John Kyle is up for relection, and he is no John McCain.

I hope we have all found our dare to be great situation.

2. So far George Bush has been wrong about just about everything
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 05:28 PM by Nicholas_J
That he has predicted. A quick war in Iraq with no resistance to the U.S.

Every prediction about the number of jobs that would be created due to his tax cuts. We have no idea of the real rate of unemployment as we have no idea of how many people wo have fallen off the unemployment lists are still unemployed.

Every economic prediction about the rebound of the economy.
The Bush economy in 4 years has not come near to reaching the highest levels they reached during the Clinton Administration.

Everything about Al Qaeda and Bin Laden.

In fact, if you go back and looks at Kerry's speeches about the results of Bush's plans on the invasion of Iraq, you will see that Kerry accurately predicted that their would be an insurgency, and the fact that the invasion would create and entire new group of terrorists in Iraq who were not inclined towards terrorism before the invasion.

Every statement about both Iraq and Afghanistan have been found to be incorrect through leaks from the Pentagon. THe insurgency and terrorism is growing in Iraq, In Afghanistan the Taliban are returning to the areas of that country that are not near the large cities like Kabul or Kandahar or Herat.

Dont worry. Igf we sit and let George Bush do what he does he will scwer up royally. There will more than likely be no concilliation between George Bush and the Republicans. There are just too many people who will not consider George Bush their president even though he won ythe election . 49 percent of the public are have a serious problem with George Bush. It will not be hard for Bush to alienate another 2 percent by 2006 and certainly by 2008.

We just sit, wait, and vocally point out every failure at every chance.

3. Democracy is Dead.

I wanted to post this as an original thread but the site won't let me. If anyone appreciates what I have to say would you please post this for me as an original thread.

Che Guivera said in his writing, Guerrilla Warfare, that when free elections cease to be the way leaders are chosen that hostilities can be presumed to have already started. Anyone on this board who gives any credence to this election having been anything but a sham is either naive or a fool. Democracy died at the 2000 election. Being good people who believe in this country we attempted with this, the 2004 election to use what we have always known as the American system to change things. We said to ourselves that the 2000 election while wrong was something we would not let happen again. We truly meant what we said. What we did not realize is that since the 2000 election things are no longer in our control. Michael Moore and others believed enough in our system of government to believe that we could get out the vote, motivate people to change the country through the democratic process and that we could in that way take the country back from those who stole it from us in 2000.

They were not aware as were most of us were not, that Democracy in this country died in 2000. This election, the 2004 election should confirm this for us all. It pains me to say this but I feel that it is true. I think that the power has shifted from the people, who make this a democracy to those who now own the country. I know that many of our fellow Americans voted for these people in this election, because of ignorance and the propaganda that they are fed on a daily basis by these people who now control this country. Their beliefs, their values, were used against them and they assisted these people with their agenda and a little assistance added to a lot of money...which is power in our capitalist system is all that they need to give an air of legitimacy to this pretense of democracy.

What is next? I do not know. I can almost picture and hear things like...."Term limits are outdated and UnAmerican"...."If the people want me to be President forever that is their right." I truly believe that we will never again see a REAL election again in this country until something happens to remove the people who now own and are in control of OUR country. Government of the people, by the people and for the people is over with for now... and will be until the next chapter in American history comes. When will it come, how will it come, only the people can determine that. I hope that I live long enough to see the nation become something other than what it is today, November 3rd, 2004. I have never been less proud to be an American than I am on this day.

7. What Matters
What matters is not who votes, nor who they vote for.
What matters is who counts the votes.

5. I know how bad things will get
I know people will whine about it later when its too late. There's nothing we can do about it now. Let's set our sights on 2006 and pull a 1994 Republican like coup in Congress. I know it seems impossible but I KNOW it can be done.
