I think we put forward the best ticket and campaign possible ...
... and still lost to that smug-ass retard.

Go ahead and second-guess all you want. Whine and complain about how Edwards didn't help the ticket or Kerry didn't talk tough enough. We put forward a seriously talented ticket, with a certified war hero at the top and a charismatic good-looking young southerner as the running mate. The public is in 60% agreement with us on most of the issues. The incumbent has presided over a piss-poor economy, has put the country far deeper into debt, and bullied and misled us into a war of choice that has killed over 1,100 of our troops and countless thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians.

Bush and Cheney won by exploiting the fears and bigotry of the American people. That was their plan, and it worked.

What should we do about that? Change our principles? Fuck no!

All we can do is endure. We carry on the fight and hope that the American people will eventually wake up. We pray that, somehow, we are wrong about the terrible consequences we believe will result from this election and this president's policies. But whenever we are proven right, we will be sure to remind our republican acquaintances that they have no right to complain - this is what they voted for.

That might seem to be a petty thing to say to a worker whose factory just announced a closure, or a young mother who becomes unable to cover her child with health insurance. But they need to be reminded of the consequences of their actions.

Going to have to file bankruptcy due to medical bills? Tough luck, that's what you voted for.

2. Hey, you're right.
It wasn't the candidates or the campaign.

People WANTED to believe Bush's shit. You can shine the light, but they just poke out their eyes to avoid seeing.

4. That's the bottom line
People wanted to believe Bush, so they shut out anything contradictory, and got more stubborn the more you tried to reason with them.

3. I don't.
I saw a lot of this shit coming, and tried to stop it.

I don't know why they didn't, or couldn't figure out how to counter it, but they didn't. Now our nation will suffer.

When the Iraq war started, and democrats ran around claiming it was the best thing to happen to freedom since the Declaration of Independence, I saw this disaster coming and tried to work against it.

The most depressing days in this nations history for me were the start of the Iraq war, the night of the Iowa caucus, and today.

5. Aside from Edwards a VP
I agree. I didn't like Edwards as VP, but I didn't see another viable option either.
