I Blame the Liberal Emigrants

yes, i blame myself.

ever since high school i wanted out of Cincinnati. in 1991 i got out, and came to the liberal mecca of Seattle. i was happy in the soft embrace of free expression & tolerance.

i was not alone. when i go back to visit my bush-donating parents, i have no friends left. none. ok, maybe a couple. but you get my point. they all left Ohio & scattered to san francisco, LA, NYC, england. my brother left. my sister left.

here, behind the cascade curtain, i've met countless midwestern emigrants who left their hometowns for the same reasons as i did. a stifling lack of culture. theocratic conservative BS. flat, brown, soulless suburban landscapes. a dying, dangerous downtown torn by racial strife. no thai food. obesity. humidity.

are there a 100,000, 200,000, even 500,000 ex-ohio lefties under 50? hell yes there are. if we'd stayed & suffered, bush would have lost today.
