I really like Kerry
I don't care if other people disagree with me. I truly like Kerry. I was really enthusiastic about him in the final days. He would have made an excellent president in every way.

This is so sad.

1. I agree
I felt he was a true statesman--honest and honorable to the core.

3. I like Kerry too, but disagree with conceding the election this early
but I still respect him and think he would make a great president.

4. I agree...about the last few days
I thought his campaign wobbled badly until they seemed to hit stride about six weeks ago (when the Clinton folks got involved...hmmm). He really seemed to be the strong closer.
But he should be proud.
He OBVIOUSLY outdebated the idiot, three, count 'em, three times. What more could he have done. Rove whipped the fundamentalist wackos into a fervor and us "reality" based thinkers got screwed. BIG TIME.

5. Didn't like him in the primaries...
Thought the republicans would kill him by accusing him of flip-flopping/mass liberal/medal tossing, etc...

Republicans did all that, but it was still close...

Started to get hope that he'd win. Thought he'd be a damn good president. Thought he clearly won the debates and made Bush look like a bumbling fool.

And then a mass of evangelical bigots came and crushed those hopes and dreams.

Sad, sad day.

7. I do, too
I think he did the best that he could, but it just wasn't enough at this point. I'm hoping that he doesn't just disappear back into the Senate, because what we need is for more Democrats in power to be more visible, and reach out more to everyday people. Particularly John Edwards, as he will have some free time now. :(

8. Kerry doesn't look people in the eye
There was an article on Yahoo this week about MRI results for what areas of supporters brains light up when they look at their candidate. When Bush supporters see Bush, they react as if seeing a good friend. Kerry supporters react to Kerry like people react to a sunset.

I also think part of the reason we can't stand to see * on our tv screens is his "personable" style, leaning in to the camera and trying to connect. It provokes intense anger if you don't want him as a friend.

9. Couldn't agree more. John Kerry is my hero.
It's men like him the US needs - not these corrupt, criminal assholes who are a disgrace to the White House today.

10. I always liked him, but I liked him even more with time.
He would have been a tremendous improvement over Bush, and would have had the support of the world.

I wonder if he will be able to speak to our concerns now.
