It seems like in order to stand a chance, we need a candidate who is like that.

No thanks!!!

How about instead we work on some compromise platforms there where we can. Leave some issues up to the states (like capitol punishment unfortunatey), and work on educating the voters! The national media is a lost cause. We need local media in states we may be able to tip, better outreach (websites dedicated to this outreach and environment), and to support the ground effort (including reorganizing the Dem party offices) of people who are supportive and motivated who live there now and have strong local ties.

Look buddy. We need some one who is anti: just paying lip service to BBV concerns during a primary. An institutional democratic party who is set up that way.

Also, people need to start actively working to secularize both America through being up front about the absurdity of organized religion. It's the only way you're going to set this country on the right track. You have to do it in a way that doesn't cause backlash but in a way that slowly get's peoples turned off sense-meters working again.
