Some Serious Questions About 2005-2008
These questions are based on the assumption that Bush does manage to retain the Presidency (one way or the other).

1. Is it unpatriotic if I refuse to fight in one of these idiotic wars the Disaster Monkey is picking if I get drafted? (Iraq/Iran/Syria/etc.?)

2. How much worse are things likely to get now that Bush won't have to worry about getting re-elected?

3. This is a purely hypothetic scenario that isn't going to happen, but I'm curious about your opinions. Say that many other nations of the world band together and invade the United States with the sole intention of removing Bush from office (regime change). Is it treason to help them, or should every American become an "insurgent"?

4. What will this country that I love look like in 2008?

I live in Michigan. We did the best we could. We carried this state for Kerry, despite the idiotic anti-gay proposal that passed overwhelmingly. Like Jon Stewart said yesterday, there is a swath of blue on the electoral map where we can all come and huddle for the next four years. Michigan always welcomes you. And Canada is just over the bridge.

1. As I said in a previous note, unless you are gay.

3. Sadly
I really tried my best on that one too. But the idiots and the bigots were too powerful.

There are precious few places you can go if you're gay, frankly. God hates fags, or so I'm told.

6. You were told wrong
or misunderstood. God indeed loves you (or the gay people). His blood did not just cover any certain group (except the saved - and YOU decide between your God and you what THAT is to YOU!) I am a Christian and a minister -- and this all is sickening... to know so manyh of my fellow Christians have been so duped by this hypocrite (Shrub). I am ashamed to be an American today (but pray it will pass).

8. I'm Not Gay
But I'm ashamed at what Michigan and several other states have done, supposedly in the name of "God". I know that if there is a God, he does not hate homosexuals.

I now know what it must have been like for white abolitionists around the 1850s and civil rights activists in the mid-twentieth century. Seeing so much overwhelming injustice and prejudice that it feels insurmountable.

To quote Martin Luther King...

"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

10. No, Americans hate fags.

At least that's the impression I get. You can call me a troll if you like, but the gay marriage issue was the thing that gave both religious whackos and ordinary faggot-haters a reason to come out and vote for Bush. God damn these people in San Francisco for bringing this up in the first place! How could they have not known this was a third-rail issue? Yes, you're right. 100 percent. No argument. But this was not the time to bring up yet more wedge issues for the GOP to pounce on. You might as well have been fighting for the right to sell canned babies at the supermarket.

We have people dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, losing their health insurance in the US, going to work at Wal-Mart with masters' degrees, and still not feeling a whole lot safer than we did three years ago, and we have to talk about gay marriage? Please!

1) You'll go to jail if you refuse.

2) You know your worst nightmares? Those are are tame by comparison.

3)Under the law, helping them is treason.

4)Think Iran with a Christian bent.

7. On #1, I Know I'd Go to Jail
I'm asking if it's UNPATRIOTIC.

I would fight for my country. But I have a feeling my fight will be here, not there.
