In April of 2002, I was told I had scleroderma, an auto-immune disorder that affects the skin and connective tissues. I was told I would die a painful, disfiguring death in relatively short order. A month after that, I was told I have lupus, a diagnosis which is painful, but only potentially disfiguring and deadly, and one which can be managed.

Ladies and gentlemen, and those who wish not to declare, I tell you that the amount of fear and despair on these boards in the last twelve hours is greater than the fear and despair I felt on being told I was dying. Literally. And I'm a fucking wimp when it comes to pain, disfigurement, and dying.

You peolpe act like it's a foregone conclusion that the coked up mongoloid in the White House will steal it again. Well, you don't know John Kerry, and you don't know Ohio, and apparently, you don't even know that the count IS STILL GOING ON! So fucking STOP IT ALREADY. Get out there and get prepared to fight! Even if we do lose, which is so far from a foregone conclusion right now, there are things we can do, things we HAVE to do, to take back our country.

They have stolen millions. They have killed hundreds of thousands. They have launched unjust wars. Do you HONESTLY believe that they will give it up? Do you HONESTLY believe that they will go down that easily? Fuck no.

You can keep believing Kerry will win. He may have WON, but he will not win ultimately. You can just about guarantee it. So, get your head out of your optimistic ass and start dealing with reality (since we are the reality-based community...). And that reality is that Bush and his radical evil Republican stooges in congress are going to be in charge for four more years. And what's more, now they will be able to radicalize the Supreme Court even more rightward. It is a clear deathknell for democracy and enlightened thought in America. I know the facts are hard to face, but there it is. Best start dealing with it and making our own plans for the future.
