Why are you acting like we lost when it isn't over yet?
I'll be the first to say that the senate results were disappointing, but until we know the situation in Ohio, like how many provisional ballots were cast, and how many absentee ballots, if any, are still to be counted, we don't know who the winner of the Presidential race is yet. This isn't even mentioning Florida.

I don't mean to be coming down hard on anybody, I promise, I just don't understand? Is DU really that resigned to a Bush re-election?

I do truly wish those of you who feel down today come to realize that until we know how many ballots haven't been counted in Ohio yet, that there is still hope!

Anyway, hope you guys (and girls) feel better soon.

Hell, I've just been trying to figure out what is going on. I've just got the news on AAR so it appears this truly isn't over yet even though the Bushies are going to try and spin it this way. I think it's just that many of us are seeing our worst fears unfolding before our eyes. Hopefully John Kerry will come out and give his take on this whole thing sometime today. He did say he would fight to ensure every vote was counted. And last but not least, I think we all need to do the same!

4. In Ohio, if there's over 250,000 provisional ballots, I think Kerry wins.
Anything between 175,000 and 225,000 provisionals would be very, very tough, but not impossible.

I honestly don't know about the absentees. Conflicting reports.

2. I was down for a while, too
When all evidence indicated a Kerry landslide and it just didn't happen, I was depressed, but now I realize it's because BASTARDS stole my election, so now I'm pissed. I think most of us need a few hours to once again realize that we've underestimated the evil of the Bushites, take that into account, and act accordingly.

Incidentally, when will ANY assumption be proven TOO evil for the Busheviks? They have consistently and depressingly lowballed my expectations since early 2000 vs McCain. Is there NO depth to which they will no sink?

Just asking.

Punch cards in OH are going to be recounted and that
might lower the current margin. If the margin shrinks closer to 100K we have a chance. If not, the provisional ballots are not going to be enough.

I'm being realistic. I don't think Bush won but I'm almost sure he will be inaugurated in January. Sorry to say but I fear that will be the case.

All I have now is hope but that's still very thin. :-(

7. It's over my friend ...
This is not Florida. It is not 500 votes, it is well over 100,000. We did not win the PV by 500,000, we lost it by 4 Million.

I certainly do not want Kerry to be President under the same pretences that bush won in 2000. It would be a disaster. It would gaurantee a single term Kerry administration.

Everything we do right now to drag this out, will only hurt us much worse in the long run. America gave bush the mandate he was lacking for the last 4 years. He is the captain of the train. All we can do is sit back and watch the wreck and say "I Told You So".

I don't like this anymore than anyone else here. I am terribly depressed this morning.

Cheers
Drifter
