David Gergen just said that Rove turned out the 4 million fundamentalist Christians who stayed at home in 2000, mainly over the gay marriage wedge issue. Deafeating gay marriage is more important to these folks than killing hundreds of thousands in Bush wars.

We will now have to be even more careful of what we say, what books we read, the people we associate with. Our homes can be entered and searched, our possessions seized without our knowledge, without a warrant. Our neighbors are encouraged to report any "unusual" comings and goings, or strange behavior - as we are encouraged to do the same with them.
