The results in FL etc. don't match voter turnout / exit polls. Something seems very wrong here.

I am not sure what can be done given BBV is likely the "reason" ?

:(

40. Yep, two years ago...
Remember 2002? We were looking at keeping control of the Senate, picking up seats in the House, and possibly kicking Jeb and the Texas turkey out of their governor's mansions. Then the actual results started coming in, and it was apparent that we were doing much worse than expected.

We may speculate about two possible causes:

1) BBV, Diebold, etc., etc. In other words, the elections are being rigged.

2) There's just some sort of way that polling methodology is missing a hidden conservative vote.

44. It's called party identification, motivation, and GOTV
We had the edge in '98 and '00. The GOP learned from our formula in 2000 and now has the edge in both 2002 and 2004. I just checked every close race -- senate, house, presidential, gov -- and almost every one broke GOP, in states throughout the country with varied methods of voting.

They have the edge right now, small but widespread.

The one thing we cannot do is win on the road. Painfully obvious. Until we put more states in play, frustrating losses will continue.

41. The GOP started saying the exit polls were wrong by as early as 7pm.
It's been repeated ad nauseum. Most recently by Rove himself. This is clearly VERY important to them. A way to mask any vote theft? All too possible (IMO), with BBV and no paper trail.

I can't believe there is no skepticism about the GOP spin. Zero. This is surreal. I can't believe that the media is acting as if this is a normal election. I feel the cognitive dissonance making me crazy.

What must Kerry be thinking.... He'll fight this--I pray.

No diebold in Oregon. 74% to Kerry in my county.(OR) That makes sense to the eyes I have and what I've seen. If the posted numbers that showed Shrub ahead I would know it wasn't true.

WHAT? Record turn out was to elect this man? I don't believe it either. There wasn't anything going in his favor, no terror attack, nothing, nothing, nothing. It defies common sense. It defies our very minds and hearts.

I'm in SW Ohio, fairly rural....and the Kerry signs littered the place..in unexpected places and amounts...Its in-f*ucking-conceavable that they could be taking Ohio...the vibe was in the air, man....

I always thought that it was nervous hyperbole to compare this freakin' situation to 30's Germany - oh, how absurd! But no one thinks something so extreme can ever happen to them, to their country and home. That's how it snuck up on Germany, too, I imagine...it only seems obvious in hindsight.

I'm sure they'll say that about us in 50 years...

*Chest rattling sigh*
