3. I must admit,
I did get choked up a bit when I walked my dog past our library and there was a line 2 blocks long!

Hundreds of early voters wait in line to cast their ballots as the polls closed at the Stephen P. Clark Center, Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in Miami.

... and that was yesterday!

9. I count 6 Kerry signs to 1 Bush sign in thaht second pic . . .
that's a pretty good ratio. Hopefully the voting will have the same ratio :)

10. Right, and VOTE EARLY!
I was working the polls in Crozet, VA, from 5:30 on this morning. Lines like no one has ever seen. The local Democrats handily won the signage wars: we got there first, with more people and more gear to display outside the polling place. And this is a majority-Republican district. I don't think it's an accident: we're more motivated, we're all out there, and we're going to win.

DON'T wait until 15 minutes before closing time to head to the polls today, whatever you do.

7. You have to love it when the line to the polling place
goes in front of private property where they can't force the removal of the Kerry sign for some kind of BS campaigning too close to the polling place accusation :).

8. From what I'm seeing (and from personal experience)....
It seems VA might go Blue. If Kerry wins VA, he wins the election -- if he can win here he can win just about anywhere.

14. VA has 400K more voters registered than in 2000! 11%++
There are 400,000 more voters registered in Virginia this year than in the 2000 election, an increase of 11 percent. About 65,000 of those residents registered in the final three days before the Oct. 4 deadline.

By Thursday's deadline, 223,164 people applied for mail-in absentee ballots, according to the State Board of Elections. In 2000, Virginians cast 150,414 absentee ballots.

"People are going to be shocked in many precincts," political analyst Larry Sabato said. "They're going to see a crowd at the polls unlike they have ever seen before. Across the country, there are going to be places where the system simply breaks down. We are unprepared for the kind of massive turnout that will occur in some places."
