Is anyone in early voting states handing out bottled water to people...
in the lines? If I lived in an early voting state, I would buy an icechest full of water, affix Kerry-Edwards stickers to the bottles, and hand it out to the people who are in the loooong lines.

You could do this and stay the mandatory distance away from the entrance to the polling place.

Anyone doing this already?

1. You can't get anywhere near the polls w/stickers on
from what I understand, it's banned by law.

5. Yes you can, as long as you are the mandatory distance away.
That's 150 feet here.

10. So have I. Sickening.
Did you see the guy strolling around behind the reporter awhile ago--the hispanic guy with the Bush Cheney shirt on, waving his flag like a moron?

And the two kids with the Bush Cheney signs? And the people in line with stickers on their shirts?

But my bottled water idea is electioneering. :-)

6. Uh, no, giving out free water to thirsty voters.
I am certain a bottle of water won't change anyone's votes. :eyes:

3. You could set up a stand across the street :Free botteled water

Then one person could get bottles for several people. It doesn't hurt to mention that your a Democrats as long as you don't try to buy their vote. Give the water to both sides for free.

8. Yes, that would work.
Good idea. Might help to have some Krispy Kremes to bribe them with, too. :-)

12. He must have been within the "neutral zone"
because no one can stop you from handing out sample ballots and literature if you are not within the distance from the door as required by state laws.

11. Thinking more along the lines of a thermos full of coffee
Will be driving in NH. Predicted high of 48, with afternoon showers. But then again, they are used to such things, perhaps water will be a good idea.

I am bringing the leftover halloween candy. (as a diabetic, it only represents temptation)

13. You could have made a fortune selling drinks/food in the line I was in

Last week in Culver City, CA, I waited three hours to vote.

One woman did hand out a few cookies at one point. But there was no water, nothing.

It was pretty grueling. Fortunately the woman in front of me held my place while I went to a Starbucks down the street and I at least got some coffee.

I think it would be bad form to put stickers on the bottles. It's not the place for that.

here's a photo of the line:
