7. Well, I couldn't either until I went through the fifth site.
From there, it and the predicted map loaded instantly.

13. He is famous among geeks, anyway.
He taught computer science to Linus Torvalds, Geek God, when the latter was an undergraduate. Later, they had a famous argument about operating system design. Torvalds seems to have won that argument, if only because of the rampant success of the Linux operating system, which implements the design favoured by Torvalds. He's a smart guy and has a great reputation.

12. quite famous

as for DOS attacks, Yahoo and AOL have trouble stopping them. a guy with five servers, no matter how smart he is, ain't gonna do better

and as for stats, I don't see any use of statistical modeling on his site. he reports the latest polls. he does not attempt to do any meta-analysis on them

i just don't understand why he is some kind of enemy figure here. his site is one of many doing something similar. he's on our side. he's been able to use his site to spread a GOTV and generally pro-Kerry message to half a million readers a day. and no one knows whether his "model" is any better than the far more complex models out there.

currently, he shows a solid kerry win.

there are real enemies out there, especially in the media. he is not one of them. nor, as we now can see, is he stupid.

if his final tally is close to the actual election result, i expect some hats to be eaten here, with heinz ketchup for flavor

The guy has a great site that has increased awareness of our political process and of how polls work (or don't)

16. Agree, Completely....
... the attitude, amongst some, on this board has been contemptible. His site has been consistently fair in the manner in which it presented itself and anyone with HALF a brain could well discern, prior to his statement today, that he was very much a progressive.

It's shameful to what depths some people will allow themselves to fall just because factual data conflicts with their hopes and aspirations.

This man should be applauded and offered profound gratitude for his contribution to our current political scene.
