Mississippi Navy Vet with Kerry stickers plastered on his tailgate...
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 09:21 AM by jchild
Taking my son to school this morning (he's feeling much better, thanks to all who have showed concern!), I was behind a little red truck that had three bumper stickers:

John Kerry (the original sticker) --- Navy Vet and Proud of it --- Kerry Edwards (the new sticker)

The guy driving the truck turned into the school before me. He had to drop his daughter or granddaughter off at one part of the school, and I had to pass him to drop my son off at the other part of the school (a different grade).

When I passed him, I waved and gave him the thumbs-up gesture. He looked at me in a perplexed way, as if wondering why I had picked him out to wave at. Then, when he passed me to get back on the road--I was still helping my kid out of the car, he saw my bumper stickers and smiled really big and flashed a peace sign and a thumbs up.

What a great feeling! A NAVY VET who is supporting his brother at arms for the presidency. IN MISSISSIPPI!

I have told DUers that we may not go blue, but we will at least be pink. Republican policies are hurting our state, and people are noticing.

One more day, people. One more day, and then we can exercise the power of the ballot at the polls. For the only time during his presidency, George Bush will be at our mercy tomorrow. Don't forget it--love your fellow Democrats--let them know that you appreciate whatever they are doing to send Bush back to Crawford. Let's never lose this spirit of cooperation that we have built during this election.

1. Nice piece....did you read Sid Salters column Saturday?
Bill Clinton took 44.9% of the vote here in 1996. Salter believes (and I agree with him) that Kerry will do even better. Not enough to win, but definitely a tight race.

2. No, I missed that!
I think that we will do better than that, too. If we go blue, all Mississippi DUers will have to have a party soon, to celebrate! :loveya:

3. Since Mississippi is the considered the most conservative state
in the union, if it goes pink, then that will be huge.

4. Look at the electoral-vote.com map...
It's pink already. Am I asking too much to see it go blue? :-)

8. Actually, Indiana is redder, we haven't went blue longer than...
Mississippi or Alabama. But, yesterday the Indy Star reported an 8% jump for Kerry in last 30 days!!! and now more undecided!!!! that's huge here, so that has to mean good things for the rest of the country. :)

10. And in Mississippi, we haven't been polled since Sept 17.
BEFORE the debates. I bet it's even tighter in Mississippi than EV shows. :-)

6. I hope we never forget...
...the worst president in US history and how close we came to allowing politicians to rip our Constitution to shreds.

Never forget. :grr:

12. Great story jchild - thanks for sharing it!
Mississippi is pink and we have a chance at making a difference - the repukes are nervous and are going to try to impede voters. Glad the Magnolia Bar is on to their tactics and will have folks at the minority polling places through out the state.

After we rid ourselves of * - our next task is to get rid of the carpetbagger Babar our elephant!

He will privatize every government function/department he can so that his cronies get the contracts and our tax dollars. MDOC is in the works and so is DHS.

13. I know...
He is truly evil. Wayne Dowdy said that John Grisham is considering running against him in 2007. Wouldn't that be a hoot!
