I have a lot of trouble finding out polling data on statewide races around here. (Yes, I know have a Texas flag avatar, but, although I'm a native Texan, I live in OK) But, the last I heard, Carson was weathering the negative superstorm that the Repugs have been waging, and has a 1 point edge in the polls. I heard this on Friday evening.
Carson has been keeping up the pressure, despite the hateful RW ads that the freepers have been putting on TV. They've had photo caricatures of Carson dancing on the screen alongside similar photos of Sens. Clinton and Kennedy. Another ad showed Kerry holding Carson's puppet strings as his caricature danced. The ads were stressing how Carson's election would bring the Democrats back in control of the Senate.
Carson has been pretty restrained with his reply ads. He even put on one ad where he gently acknowledged the rough politics in Oklahoma, and promised that he would not put on any more negative ads. Of course, that didn't stop him from repeating his attack ads from earlier this month.
Other Carson ads bring up his various OK newspaper endorsements (except form the neanderthal Daily Oklahoman (Oklahoma City), of course).
I'm hoping the turnout will give Carson a narrow win.
