No state has lost more men and women in Iraq than California. In the roll call of the dead, no other state comes close.
Take a look at the list below. It winds through big city and small town, marching on without end. The fallen soldiers are from north and south, the valleys, the mountains, the coast.
Their names sound familiar; their ages too painful to think about.
They lost their lives on a mission to bring self-determination to Iraq, or so they were told.
