Is anyone else having difficulty holding together? I'm a pretty
calm person, but I could sit down and weep. Can't seem to find comfort anywhere...*sigh*.

Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 12:35 PM by Oddman
I was wondering why I felt like I had the flu - but it wasn't like the real flu - I have body aches and headaches - but no fever or nausea - and it struck me - I have pre electionitis - or bush flu!

There is only one cure - a Kerry landslide!

7. Today has been a day like all others-------
I started the day with hearing "bad" things like some assinine AP story in a paper I picked up. Then I start hearing and seeing more and I honestly think no one has a clue what is going to happen on Tuesday. I think we have as much to be positive about as the republicans and as much to be worried sick about as the republicans. The difference for us, I think, is the "sleepers"---the newly registered voters but more importantly THEY YOUNG VOTERS. They like to sign up for things and then never show up (been there and done this sign up thing before with them) BUT I think this time their tv shows have whipped them up and I think the word "draft" haunts them. This is truly now in their hands and I think this time they won't let us down.

11. I'm holding it together, but I've become sort of a junior Nixon,
steadfastly working on my mile long enemies list.

It includes damn near every talking media head on TV.

All of the Shrub surrogates. (headed by Shrub and Cheny, of course)

All of the Swiftboat creeps.

My hate filled cup runneth over. After the Sunday morning whore fest today, it's time for another shower. When I start to flag, my venom revives me.

p.s. We're going to win!

13. A therapist would say
you are engaging in catastrophic thinking. On the other hand, that's why I literally stopped reading the daily paper and watching the national news years ago.

Think about it this way: Before we had access to this wealth of information, the most "news" we had was months old and sketchy. Most towns and villages were worried about day to day survival. You can have anxiety now, because you are fed, clothed, warm and fairly safe.

That in no way negates the seriousness of the situation or what you are feeling. However, if you sit down and actually address what you CAN DO, you will find you have done all you can. You've participated, you've voted (or will vote). Other than that, you are powerless. There is a great relief in accepting that. You mantra should be: "I've done all I can. I've made a sincere and honest effort. I accept whatever happens."

I also find that balancing out the adult approach with a good old fashioned snit will bring all the anxiety down to a really manageable level. Your other mantra should be: "I'll kick his ASS! I really mean it! (inserting appropriate cursing, foot-stomping and fist waving as necessary) NO! NO! NO! NO! I WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT A**HOLE FOR PRESIDENT!!!!"

Repeat as necessary.

Good Luck. (offered pro bono as a service to all Kerry supporters)

and so am almost entirely home bound....

Not being out in the thick of things like I have since 1976 has been really hard to deal with...

The only think keeping me sane is DU and Bart.....

And BuzzFlash and playing with the numbers from EV......

If I had to rely on the Cleveland PD and the cable networks, I would probably be sitting in a warm bath tub with razor blades close by....

30. I've reached my anger limit. And I have LOTS of practice.
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 12:52 PM by Gregorian
What we have been going through, with Bush, over the last four years, I have been going through for thirty years. I won't bother you with it here, but it's a problem that I/we can't just vote away. And as a result, I have become very involved with real estate. I have literally bought and sold my way away from the "problem". In fact, Tuesday not only brings a decision on the president, but a new home for me. So right now, I'm on pins and needles. I've never been more ready to be combatant than today. In fact, I just came as close to one of my neighbors trucks as possible, as we passed, just now. Clown breeders in their monster trucks, building houses everywhere. That's the world I'm trying to escape, as we also try to delouse the White House. I accidentally moved into a neighborhood of republicans. Rope twirling, petroleum addicted, incessant truck and car driving, horse loving, house building, fools.

Ok, I'm done. Forgive me. Hate is really not a good thing. The bible has some rather important stuff to say about it. I'll just say that we are no better than Bush, if we hate him. Sort of. Jesus DID chase the money counters out of the temple....

Edit- I just talked to my realtor and got some great advice. Let's look forward. Instead of being pissed off about where we've been, let's look at our new place. I'm making the assumption that The Chimp won't be here much longer. And even if that's not the case, then we look further out. I'm thinking Nelson Mandela.

35. No I'm mad as hell.
I am having a hard time not to harbor hate in my heart for the sheeple who are deceived by a man who bares the mark of the beast. See what I mean. I don't really believe he is the antichrist in my heart it's just I have no other explanation of why they follow him so blindly. It really freaked me out when the media started talking about seals being broken. You know 380 tons of high explosives missing from al Qaqaa that the IAEA left under seal. I don't remember much about Revelations but I know it had something about breaking seals in it. Then yes-sir-your-a-fart aka Yasser Arafat leaving Jerusalem and my mind goes back to Revelations again.

So cheer up it could be worse.

36. PEAD's First heard it on Keith Olbermann, so tongue in cheek!
But if the shoe fits....
pre-election anxiety disorder/syndrome!

This election is the most important in our lives. We know What B* has brought us in the past 4 years of a presidency he didn't even deserve, and he still is able to spin lies into truth. That is what is so distressful to me...that people don't get what a disaster we are awaiting if the neocons stay in power. And the media support of it...it makes me truly ill!

39. Incorrect
There has been no vacancy on the Supreme Court this presidential term.
I also sadly doubt that we get back Congress. I don't think Kerry's intention was to sacrifice himself. He's in this to win. Last, I believe there are no second chances in presidential politics anymore. If Kerry loses there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Hillary will run in 2008.

Yes it is very hard going through this period waiting to see if America is going to be rescued from the Slimly paws of Bush. It's real hard. You cannot imagine the depression I go into if I allow my mind to even remotely consider a Bush victory. I have to believe more Americans want a change and someone better than Bush. I just have to believe that.
