Lesson: Do not taunt a Sleeping Giant...

The people (voters) of America have been a sleeping giant for a couple of decades or more. Very little could capture their attention. This has not been good for Democrats, the traditional Party of the People. The Republicans took advantage of the slumbering giant.

Then along came 2004. After 4 years of ineptitude, arrogance, and bellowing, the giant slowly, very slowly, began to open his eyes.
He was shocked at what he saw. The People's Social Security system was in danger. The Repubs were openly talking about privatizing the funds.

He saw our young troops dying in the sands of Iraq, for no legitimate reason. He saw us disrespected around the globe. At home, he saw massive giveaways to the wealthy stewards of the Republican Party and deficits that dwarved any of the past. And he saw fear on the faces of the most vulnerable.

So, he stood up, dusted himself off, and headed toward the polls. Most of the expert pollsters ignored him. They thought he was only wandering aimlessly. They did not realize the degree of his anger.
