1. WHERE I VOTED

They already had one in 4 voters of the 2000 total (Gore and Bush combined for 51.5K total votes last time). Thats amazing. I think its about time we went to one week or two of early voting and a National Voting Day. I think the early voting proves that people are interested if given the opportunity to vote. Ive read that they numbers are breaking for each candidate in the states won by the party the last time. But havent read squat about the battleground states.

2. In my little corner of the country..

Guilford County, North Carolina, early voting turnout broke the record with nearly 26% (almost 78,000) of registered voters casting their ballot as of Saturday.

If Nov 2 turnout compares to the 2000 election then they are anticipating a 65% overall turnout by e-day.

After working the early voting polls and seeing how many people did not want to wait 2+ hours and said they were going to vote on Tuesday, I personally I think the turnout on e-day will be higher than 2000.

The highest turnout in my county was in 1992- 68% for the Clinton-Bush race.

4. We (other workers at the poll) tried to tell them that and

we managed to talk a few into staying, explaining that they were already there, they might as well stay and vote. Some had to leave due to other obligations, such as picking up kids at a certain time, etc.

Most said they would come very early on e-day because they have never had to wait on actual e-day before.

Election officials are predicting 45 min average wait time on Tuesday. I'm observing from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm so I will see first hand how long the waits are.
