I'm confused -- what polling news is so worrying?
Edited on Sun Oct-31-04 06:34 AM by DeepModem Mom
I've just looked through all posts in GD2004 since 9 or so last night. I see only a Newsweek poll with a significantly changed number, and no other. I see a reference some paragraphs down in an AP article that there is some momentum toward Bush, with no documentation, indicating that both camps have noted this. On the other hand, Zogby's new state numbers are, if they held on Tuesday, winning numbers. In other polls, the race is close, as it has been, but we are right there, in the game and playing hard. Some states we had given up on seem to be in play again. The OBL tape seems not to have been a boon to Bush. The majority of talking heads on some shows are giving us the election. Zogby is giving us the election.

I want to feel good about our chances, but this is not a feel-good post. I'm trying to be realistic. Am I missing something?

1. nope. we're winning. relax. everything is going great, and Kerry rules.
and bush sucks, and he keeps sucking so badly that the polls are leaning our way more and more.

2. I just did a complete rundown on state and national polling and we look
good for election day. All but a couple polls in Ohio recently show us ahead. Wisconsin and Iowa are swinging our way. Michigan and Pennsylvania are in the bag. New Hampshire continues to look strong. Minnesota, there is conflicting data, but still looks positive.

3. Beats me.
I have no idea what some of these people are worried about. I've looked over the numbers as thoroughly as an amateur can. I'm very pleased with what I see in the states. It looks to me like an EC victory is assured. We all saw last time what good a Popular Vote victory does. (Note: I think that we'll win the PV handily, too.)

5. There's no point in worrying about the polls
All anyone will really say at this point is that it's a close race. Bush is hitting his ceiling around 47-48.

It's just a matter of turnout and so far we're winning it with regards to early voting. We just gotta make sure dems get their asses to the polls on Tuesday.
