3 Nov 2004 - Start of the Second American Civil War ?
Does anyone else see one of those situations where we are careening wildly into civil war? I'm not a freeper, but I am watching the obvious irregularities going on in everything from Diebold machines to deliberate disenfranchisement to lawyers preparing to duke it out and the mysteriously timely reappearance of OBL, and I don't see this as boding anything but ill.

Take Florida and magnify it by fifteen or twenty different state challenges. Throw in a few riots here and there and perhaps another "attempted" terrorist attack, maybe on the 2nd, with the concommitment shutting down of the election counting process and the de facto declaration of martial law. You're dealing with an administration which is probably the most corrupt in history, knowing full well that presidential pardons are not going to work if in fact it is proved that the administration had a hand in 9/11. You have a religious theocracy in the wings just waiting to take over, exhorting their faithful on because The Free and Godly Republic of America is nearly here. Countering that, you have nearly everyone else who aren't going to take it much longer ... not when you have a half-million protesting in New York.

I want a Kerry landslide, desperately, so much so that even the pundits in power know how weak their hold would be if the chimp stays in power much longer. Yet when I see all the polls seeming to converge to the same number, not just at the percentage level but even at the tenth of a percentage level, I have to wonder if perhaps the fix is in, and the powers that be would rather HAVE that civil war than relinquish their hold.

Okay, it's been a long day for me, and I'm not normally this glum, but I keep having this feeling that the Second of November will only be the beginning.

1. No, it will be Jan 20, when Congress votes in the "interim president"
none other than GWB.

Rove is gonna tie this thing up in the courts until Jan 20, at which time the Constitution mandates Congress votes for an interim president until the mess is straightened out.

Guess who that will be?

THEN the shit will really hit the fan

3. Nah..
I think we'll pull it together.

However, I do think there will be a civil war within the Republican party after Bush loses, but especially if he wins.

Conservatives and moderate Republicans are not happy with Bush and with the direction their party has taken.

5. My 84 year old Mother-in-law told me tonight
she is worried about tuesday and hopes Kerry wins by enough to satisfy...

She is a life long republican, raised by a man who refered to FDR as that traitor to his class..

A man who resisted Unionizing his Tool & Die company until the day he died.....

She is worried about trouble if there are problems like in 2000.....

6. no civil war, just a mandate for change
When Kerry is done with the Electoral vote count the piglicans will be to stunned to do anything. Pat Robertson is going to form a new religous wacko party and divide the piglicans into two meaningless facitons. Piglicans like to talk tuff but at the end of the day what are the going to do? You hear them babble on about how they have all the guns but how many of these piglicans are willing to go to Iraq?? Do you really think they are going to fight??

Kerry in 08
Edwards in 12
the senate will be ours in 08 or 10 and the congress in 10 or 12.

It's not going to happen overnight but we will get there. One nail at a time driven by our hammers of freedom.

8. Thank you
I have been coming here for a long time and due to stress of the election decided to finally join up.

2 more days and it's over. The wood chopin horseless cowboy is history.

9. I think it's been underway for awhile.
I think it started with Reconstruction. We've had the Carpetbaggers, Dixiecrats, and Southern Strategy as some of the battles waged.
