My parents saw Clinton in Santa Fe today...and shared some thoughts.
My dad is 74 and my mom is 71. They were both super excited to go down to the Plaza in Santa Fe and see Bill. I don't think it's an invasion of privacy to share the email my mom sent after the event. Pretty cool if you ask me. Here's an excerpt of her email.

Well, we're pumped up about the election. We went down to the plaza this afternoon for the Bill Clinton/Theresa Heinz Kerry rally. We couldn't get very close, but we stayed around for a while and then opted for a beer and some guacamole at the bar at La Fonda. We came home just in time for Tina to call and tell us the whole damned thing was live and direct on C span..........Well, that saved us some effort. Clinton is very good, and Theresa is also very good. Our fat governor knows how to work the crowd as well.

We're not doing a very good job of having a life other than politics. This became clear this evening as we continued watching C span and caught a debate at the Oxford Union - the subject being the election of the President of the United States. It was quite entertaining and one comment really made the day for me........the former editor of the London Observer said: "Invading Iraq after the terrorist attack would be the same as invading Mexico after Pearl Harbor." .............Well, I think he has a point!

My parents are pretty cool, if slightly geeky in a political way. No wonder I surf www.democraticunderground.com...

G'nite.

4. La Fonda? is that the hotel downtown with the fireplaces in the rooms?
I could be thinking of another hotel or restaurant. Your parents sound wonderful. Bill is doing a great job. I am sure Theresa appreciates his help.

5. Yes, La Fonda is the old hotel kitty corner to the Plaza
The lobby is old and funky with a restaurant in the middle. Nice rooftop bar in the summer. I go there for lunch every time I visit my parents.

Thanks. My parents are wonderful. And they vote D.
