I know why the turnout is so high for early voting.
...and why it seems to be mostly Democrats.

If my state had early voting I would have waited as long as it took to vote on Day One. Why? Because I CANNOT WAIT TO VOTE AGAINST THAT BASTARD!!!

This is my only form of revenge for the four years of hell he has brought upon the world, the country, and my very own self, and I long to savor it. I wish it were Tuesday already.

Gimme the ballot! I'm ready! Do I get to vote against him now? How about...now?

:argh:

1. This is true. I went to vote on the first day.
I really had planned to wait until Election Day, because I'm working my polling place and will be there all day anyway, but I simply couldn't stand it and trotted out to vote despite all of my plans. After all, what if I died between early voting and election day? Heh!

2. Or people don't trust the BBVs
There's the sense that absentee votes will not be thinkered with. Silly notion, since they'd actually be easier to tinker with.

3. You might still kinda have early voting.
We didn't really have early voting, but in-person absentee voting, which I took so I could go to Wisconsin or Iowa on tuesday for GOTV. Maybe your board of elections has that.

I actually didn't like it as much though, because they were running every precinct out of this office, and you had this fear they might accidentally have given you the wrong punch card. Plus, the pages of the ballot weren't attached to the voting machine like normal, just some pages with numbers on them you had to match with a book with the candidates listed...made me a little nervous, and I went back and actually checked the chads for mistakes.
