Eminem's 'Mosh' video disses Bush - MSNBC
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6347737/

A video for Eminem's "Mosh" has begun a rapid circulation in the internet and, as expected, the video is a pointed, visual criticism of president George W. Bush and the present administration.

"Mosh" was directed by Ian Inaba of the Guerrilla News Network and created with a staff of illustrators, animators and special effects artists. Inaba explained how the video came to be.

"The goal was to make a video that inspired young people to vote because they too often disregard it as a powerless exercise," he said of "Mosh." To show them that political decisions do impact their daily lives and that voting is the most powerful act we all have to voice our opinion and effect change. And to educate and reiterate the point that whether or not people want to accept it, there are forces in play that attempt to suppress the youth and minority vote."...

1. Em' played the song on SNL tonight
It was the first song he played. At the end of the song, he grabbed a handwritten sign that said "vote", and he held it up during the applause following the performance.

In the five-minute video, Eminem and the GNN push the creative license to the fullest. Planes fly over schools and explode in the background, meanwhile Eminem, dressed as President Bush, is reading an upside down elementary school book. But, as the story progresses, it depicts Em inside an apartment with walls of newspaper clippings disapproving of the current administration. However, the critique doesn't end with the president. In "Mosh" a cartoon Lloyd Banks is a victim of profiling, other families fall prey to poverty, and other domestic issues are addressed. In the end, hordes of youth march towards the White House with Eminem leading the fray.

GNN's previous effort with Eminem, the "White America" video, didn't make it past the internet for its graphic indictment of the middle America. Inaba said he was optimistic that this would represent a change.

"Two years ago, this video would not have been approved by a single record label. A year ago it would never had the possibility of being played on television. But with the changing tide of public sentiment marked by the success of our last video for Chronic Future, an anti-war message that made it into rotation on TRL we think it might just have a chance," he said. "Now, it's up to the broadcasters, will they ban the top selling musical artist for being anti-establishment while they allow other propaganda to air? Or will they finally allow an artist who has the courage to speak out to take center stage and utilize the airwaves for something other than typical celebrity fodder?"
