all the tracking polls showed Kerry gaining. The internals of that newsweek poll are all fucked up too. Its called an outlier.

They're referring to the newsweek poll. Although newsweek says nothing about it, I guess almost all or all the interviews were done before the release of the tape.

On the other hand, other polls done partly or completely after the tape was released show no major variation (and in some cases Kerry ganining ground).

and the article is very misleading because it doesn't point out that's likely voters -- a completely invalid measure because LVs are only the people who voted last election.

Anyway, why post downer news, even though this really isn't?

And if you were to re-weight the poll to 2000 or 1996 turnout, Kerry would be slightly ahead. No worries here.
