Rep GOTV efforts in 2002 mid-term elections were unexpectedly successful; relatively lackluster Dem efforts led to number of unnecessary losses, esp in Senate (Cleland, Mondale etc, and was disappointing given that FL 2000 wounds still so fresh

Rep base will be even more fired up this time, so Dem GOTV has to be HUGE.

No disloyalty or doomsaying here folks - just prefer not to tempt fate and to save celebrations for November 3
