Craig Crawford just said on MSNBC that the Bush people are telling
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 04:19 PM by Pirate Smile
the reporters (off the record) that the OBL tape is good for them because it scares people and they do better when people are scared. He was surprised that would say that even if it was off the record.

Just confirms everything we have already known.

They are such scum.

edit to add - it doesn't seem to be working according to the daily tracking poles.

16. It's nothing new.
Bush & Co. drop the ball all the goddamn time and its Rethug base just makes excuses and pat themselves on the back for reassurance.

3. Kerry should use the tape of Crawford in a new Internet ad
And then send out press releases everywhere to try to get the media to pick up the ad.

Bush's people need to be exposed for admitting they are trying to use Bin Laden to turn the election toward them.

Bin Laden is working for Bush's campaign and Bush is happy about it. Where is the outrage? Where is the media?

9. They've Cried Wolf Too Many Times
Most people know better now. Bush didn't get Osama--had he done so, he'd be running away with this election. Two points:

1.) The undecideds aren't going to base their decision on the despicable rhetoric of Osama bin Laden. It seems unlikely that we'll see the analysis "Osama's Tape Pushes Bush To Victory". The Republicans are grasping at straws in a doomed campaign.

2.) It's Halloween Weekend, people!!! No one's paying attention to this besides us die-hards! The tape came out at 4 PM on Friday of Halloween Weekend! The undecideds are out partying, probably know nothing of this tape, though they may know that there *is* a tape, but have no idea what it says. Between football and Halloween, the campaign is essentially over. Unless "60 Minutes" does something crazy Sunday night, or something crazy happens Monday, this thing is over! It's in the bag! Kerry wins! Kerry wins!

10. The celebrating of 9/11 is abhorrent....
3,000 plus people die and Republicans celebrate
that date? I don't get it. It happened on Bush's
watch even after he received plenty of information
that Al Queda cells were in the country and
something big was coming.

Republicans have lost their minds if they
think fear is going to keep us clinging to
the man who said "bring it on". They need to
be afraid that the real threat won't be from
terrorists, but real Americans taking back our
country.

12. Actually, I think the opposite is true this time.
In fact, all the democratic spokespeople on TV this weekend have echoed this, and I think for a reason. They know from their internal tracking polls that Kerry is going up now, not down. But they can't say that, so they say that this should help Bush. It's not helping Bush. I don't think the Bush campaign people would be saying they are helped by this if it were true. They know they are behind and are just trying to get the media to pump it up for Bush so that they can try to get some "bandwagon" support. Reading between the lines, the Bush people are dropping, and Bin Laden being alive and well has a hand in it.

13. It's not only off the record
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 04:42 PM by C_U_L8R
As reported in today's NY Daily News:
Rove & Co are bragging about it openly !!!
(these people are totally repugnant)

"We want people to think 'terrorism' for the last four days," said a Bush-Cheney campaign official. "And anything that raises the issue in people's minds is good for us."
A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush." He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.

If you feel inspired - feel free to let others know what the BushCreeps are saying

can you believe--oh never mind, of course you can. I've never seen a president use fear and terror to control the people of this country--face it, we're living in a facist state.

14. When dealing with the press - there is never such thing as
"off the record" Anyone who's been around a while knows this.

Those goofs may have known exactly what they were doing.

21. OBL tape isn't good for either candidate from what I've been
reading...much as they want to spin even negative news their way.

AOL poll: total votes: 181,384 at 4:45 pm

Which candidate benefits most from latest OBL video?

Bush 47%
Kerry 27% combined for Kerry and none: 52%
none 25%
Nader 1%

Has it influenced your vote?

Yes 10%
No 90%
