8. why...
The polls are confirming one another.......

a tiny kerry lead

a tiny bush lead

or a

tie...

No poll can give you 100% specificity...

10. in a poll with both men essentially within 1 point or 2 points
It should just be labeled too close to call. They should only start saying someone is ahead when they break through with a 4 or 5 point lead.

12. I Agree... (nt)
If we are down less than 3 in the poll of polls on Monday I like our chances...

Of course I like them better if they show we are ahead...

7. YES YES YES!
The pundits must be going crazy.

And the RWers must be getting out the vats for the Kool Aid.

If Kerry could gain after yesterday, Bush has NOTHING. Nothing!

Isn't that the conventional wisdom?

16. LOL!!! "Don't believe it," grunts one inbred freeper at freeperville.
I just scooted over to see their reactions to Kerry's surge. Check out this little pearl of wisdom from one knuckle-dragger!

"Everybody I know is voting for Bush. He'll get over 60% on Tuesday. The socialists are just messing with us."

21. Inaccurate according to what? Last night's sample was valid for Friday
just as a Tuesday's sample was valid for Tuesday. No less accurate at all. In fact, I would argue that Dem-friendly voters are LESS likely to be home on a Friday than Rep-friendly ones. So, it may be even be more of a Kerry surge than what we are seeing.

By the way, are you optimistic? Positive? Happy to be here?

24. Why does that poll always have so few undecideds?
I wouldn't mind a 1 point deficit as much if it were 47-46, with more margin to overtake via undecideds.

28. But the good news in this poll is that * has dropped a point since
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 04:39 PM by scmirage
yesterday and that Kerry has gone up a point with only a 1 point lead by *. I heard Craig Crawford say on MSNBC that privately the * folks were saying that the OBL tape helped them because they got more support when people were scared. Crawford couldn't believe they were saying this off-the-record. But the polls (at least the ones that have come out since the tape has come out) show that the tape has hurt *--reminding them that OBL is very much alive and well and still threatning the USA.
