FUCK NEWSWEEK!
It's bad enough that their poll methodology results in repugs outnumbering Dems by 3% in the poll they released today. But apparently a day before the election they are going to put the damn thing on their Monday cover saying, "Breaking for Bush?" According to them, bush is up 51%-45%. But their poll oversamples repugs by a 7% margin compared to the 2000 data (and their are plenty of good reasons dems will outnumber by repugs even more this Tuesday).

If you subscribe to Newsweek, save the issue, then send it back to them after Kerry wins with your cancellation.

Here's the link to Newsweek, and a link to mydd.com that discusses this (an excellent blog).

2. Why do they do that?
Edited on Sat Oct-30-04 03:59 PM by are_we_united_yet
Is it because there are more Democrats than Republicans? So they oversample Republicans to make it statistically balanced?

19. Oh.
I thought they purposely picked a jhigher number of one affiliation to counter balance that the other group is better represented as far as registration is concerned.

12. Historically, Pubs vote, Dems don't
When Dems vote, Dems win. I wish Democrats understood this, every last one of them. That's why they weight it that way, to reflect voting trends. There would be very few Republicans in office if we would just vote, every single election.

17. I know
it sounds so easy (it is) but it in practice it seems to be an act of God to get people to vote.

I have never subscribed and now I never will. The issue that comes out right before the election should be neutral.

8. mydd.com says it will be. I was wondering that myself. It's amazing
they will use one deeply flawed poll to jump to a conclusion that millions of Americans will see and hear about on Monday.

9. With the week that Bush had. . .
it's implausible to suggest that he held his ground.

To suggest that he gained ground is LAUGHABLE.

Doesn't Newsweek hit newstands on Tuesday? Their mistake is going to be staring out at people for almost a week if they're wrong.

14. Do you think maybe this would help us?
I mean listen, if they put that on their cover, then maybe that will keep some of the GOPers at home? When they (R) see the cover and think hey * is in a comfortable lead, I won't need to go to the polls. The line are too long anyways.

At the same time it gets the Dems fired up because they see our boy is behind. I would like to think this would work in our favor.
