I don't think Giuliani made a mistake on the Today Show. I think he did it on purpose. A week or two ago I said that Giuliani on the weekend shows defending Bush sounded more like a Giuliani who was running for President. He barely mentioned Bush's name and compared himself to Kerry.

And Giuliani blaming the troops? How unlikely is that? His problem as NYC mayor was that he relentlessly defended the cops to a fault. I can't believe he would go from an apologist for some of the worst abuses by police anywhere (within a police force that is largely excellent) to a guy who would slip up and criticize the troops.

I think Giuliani has decided that by stealing a LOT Bush is screwing it up for all the other Republicans who want to steal a little bit.

Maybe he doesn't want to run for president in 2008, but it looks like he doesn't want Bush to stick around for another 4 years shifting ALL the money in America to the oil companies.

1. Several months of good deeds
do not make up for eight years of fascism. Giuliani is a prick!

2. I didn't say he wasn't a prick-I'm saying this is a schism among fascists

Giuliani isn't lauding Kerry by any stretch. But he's screwing over Bush in manner that could only be intentional. The guy does have a Harvard Law Degree and has spent a lot of time in front of juries and has been very successful.

4. I was merely pointing out my
opinion of Rudy the Nutbag. Your suggestion re his motive is thought provoking. Maybe he is trying to Bash bush. Mr. Pat Robertson apparently has the same agenda. Don't you just love it when fascists eat their own?

has always been an idiot. The reason he got away with his mean-spirited bravodo was lazy, timid NY Whores, oops, I meant press.

6. Rudy has been sounding like a nut lately.
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 08:09 PM by tjdee
I think it was after the first debate (?) that I saw him talking up Bush in a way that was almost psychotic in the way it ignored much of reality.

I too was shocked that Mr. "I support the NYPD at any cost" Giuliani was all of a sudden blaming the troops for the missing explosives, but I tend to think it is really because he is that far up Bush's hiney now.

He didn't sound like that before.

9. Rudy's always been a bit of a nut
Sure, he made the trains run on time, figuratively speaking. But he was an egotistical nutcase when he was mayor and I'm sure that hasn't changed. He defended the cops because it suited HIS purposes. The abuses were in line with his policies. No question that he'd sell any of them right down the river if that suited his purposes, too.

10. Rudy can rescue himself by pointing to his relationship with NYC cops.
Bush will be gone.
