<snip>

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Oct. 27 - Looters stormed the weapons site at Al Qaqaa in the days after American troops swept through the area in early April 2003 on their way to Baghdad, gutting office buildings, carrying off munitions and even dismantling heavy machinery, three Iraqi witnesses and a regional security chief said Wednesday.

1. No matter how hard the spin, the truth keeps coming out. And I hope
that they end up on trial someday for putting all those poor American (and Iraqis too) in danger like this. And the deaths that they're responsible should merit them a very special place in Hell.

4. John Shaw is the one who says the Russians did it
You gotta check this out
From the Financial Times
But in a further development, John Shaw, a deputy under-secretary of defence, suggested that “Russian units” had transported the explosives out of the country.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Mr Shaw said: “For nearly nine months my office has been aware of an elaborate scheme set up by Saddam Hussein to finance and disguise his weapons purchases through his international suppliers, principally the Russians and French. That network included. . . employing various Russian units on the eve of hostilities to orchestrate the collection of munitions and assure their transport out of Iraq via Syria.”
The Russian embassy in Washington rejected the claims as “nonsense”, saying there were no Russian military in the country at the time.
Mr Shaw, who heads the Pentagon’s international armament and technology trade directorate, has not provided evidence for his claims and the Pentagon distanced itself from his remarks.

The best part is, check out the history on this scumbag Shaw,
who was running around Iraq undercover, getting contracts for his
friends
here

7. Having Russians Move the Stuff Out Pre-War.......
can't be good for *Co. Putie Put is supposed to be *'s friend. You mean we knew that this was going on and this is the first
this has come out. This is just another attempt by them to stem the damage. If we knew Russians moved anything out of
Iraq - this would have come out long ago with respect to the WMD issue.

3. An incredible scene
"The Iraqis described an orgy of theft so extensive that enterprising residents rented their trucks to looters. But some looting was clearly indiscriminate, with people grabbing anything they could find and later heaving unwanted items off the trucks."

6. Just the fact that we DON'T know is damning
If they had either searched or secured the ammo dumb when they first occupied it they would know if the explosives were not there at that time.
MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!

8. What a pleasant October surprise, for a change
* has been frantically spinning, to no avail. The more he tries, the clearer it becomes to undecided voters who is on top of things and who is leveling with the public. Only his flatterers and sycophants cheer him on at those rallies.

I'm not religious, but as the saying goes, there are no atheists in foxholes, so I'm praying for a Kerry landslide to put an end to the neocon/fundie stranglehold on US culture and media once and for all.
