The Coming Kerry Landslide?
Seems someone in the Kerry campaign with access to internal polls thinks it might be so:

3. I think Will Pitt asked this once before...
let's not use that word.

Let's focus on winning and not think we are coasting to victory. This election will be decided by just one vote.

5. Rove must be shitting bricks
I'm betting he's on a suicide watch for real, especially after the stunt of sitting in front of the Air Force One tire the other day.

7. The article says
that because of Bush running national ads that air in all states, his numbers are higher than expected in states that aren't really in contention, like Hawaii, and therefore his national poll numbers are inflated and don't reflect the likely Electoral College result.

Kerry's strength in battleground states means that those states that are in contention (OH, MO, WI, PA, MI, IA, FL, etc) are more likely to go Kerry for the Electoral College, giving Kerry a sizable win despite the Bush national poll numbers.

Hope that's not too confusing...

I hope this analysis is right :D

8. "garbage points"
short perceptive piece---lots of * turnout in safe Bush or safe Kerry
states means nothing if it doesn't tip psychology in swing states. Looks like they're sucking worse than could be hoped.

9. Ah, yes...
It feels just great to be a resident of a "garbage" state.

One day, we may have national elections.

Until then, I will continue to display my useless Democratic signs in Alabama.

let's GET OUT THE KERRY VOTE! We cannot take our focus off for single second until we're assured victory! (Having said that--Gosh, I like the sound of Kerry in a Landslide)!

10. I just hope that formerly Blue states don't suddenly turn "red"
If Bush has the ad war won in the non-battleground states, then it is possible for one of those to swing... Hope not, but it's possible.

12. Very few possibilities
Maybe Iowa and Wisconsin could turn red, that is about it. We'll more than make up with it with Ohio and Florida and numerous other states.

13. Some possibilities
WI is very close and could go Bush. I wish I had your confidence about FL. I also have to admit that purely as strategy I think Bush is right to keep hammering away at PA. Even if he loses it as I believe he will it keeps Kerry there. Hopefully the strategy backfires and Bush loses sight of OH and FL and those states both go blue. And come on, CO and AR!
