Doesn't the news bias exhibited during this election
mandate that the "fairness doctrine" be reinstated? If we only use our time to refute the obvious lies and distortions, I think it paramount to future fairness to reinstate this important legislation and appoint an FCC board that will adjudicate impartially.

1. Yes, that would be a good idea
but there is much more to it. You also need to divest the media conglamorations, consider anit-trust, and take other steps to "democratize" the media if it is clear that democracy itself is at stake.

If you get a chance to see Orwell Rolls Over in his Grave, it is an excellent documentary on just how bad the media problem is. There is also much information online about the media crisis and reform. I don't have a link handy here, though.

2. we have to break up the Media Monoliths..
They did it to AT&T and Standard Oil, they can do it now.

3. The Kerry administration will realize
that the media conglomerates almost cost them the election with their shamelessly biased broadcasts. I expect to see some sweeping changes right out of the gate.
